General Policies
Please read all of our policies carefully so
you will have a better understanding of our procedures and expectations and
fewer questions throughout the year.
-
The Master Class Academy takes pride in the quality of our programs and strives to maintain a professional, positive learning environment at all times. We are also committed to helping each student develop strong life skills such as self-discipline,
time management, commitment, accountability, and teamwork.
-
Preparedness: Students arriving at class unprepared and
without proper books, music, scripts or class work will be asked to leave their lesson and will lose the lesson that week.
- Dress code: Students failing to wear appropriate dance attire (see required attire list) will be asked to leave the dance class. They may attend another class that week to make it up otherwise they will lose the lesson that week.
- Attitude: Students are expected to maintain a positive, enthusiastic attitude and a willingness to learn while participating in classes at The Master Class Academy. Negative, disrespectful, uncooperative or disinterested attitudes will not be tolerated! Students will be asked to leave class at the discretion of the instructor.
- Promptness: Students are expected to arrive on time for each class, preferably at least 5 minutes early. Arriving late disrupts the class and is upsetting to the instructors and fellow classmates. Latecomers will only be permitted to join the class if we were called in advance and notified of the late arrival.
- Attendance: Students should make every effort to attend their scheduled classes.
If a student has to miss a class, it is imperative that we receive a phone call ahead
of time.
- Missed Classes: Any missed dance, voice or piano classes must be made up within one month following the missed class. Dance students wishing to make up classes may take any dance class on their level as a make up (i.e., a Ballet student may take a Tap or Jazz class). Missed classes must be made up or lost. Private piano and voice students are only allowed one make-up per semester.
- Private Lessons: All Private lessons scheduled for Voice, Piano, Dance and Acting require payment in full in advance and a 12 hour cancellation notice to The Master Class Academy, in order to give the instructor sufficient time to change his/her schedule. Due to a very heavy schedule with very little space available for make ups, each student will only be given one (1) makeup lesson per semester and the lesson must be made up with the same month that it was missed.
- General Communication: Students are expected to call the Academy any time they are going to be late or absent. This is both common courtesy and instills both responsibility and accountability in the student.
- Cell Phones, Pagers, etc.: Students may not use phones, pagers, or any other electronic devices while in class. All items must be put away and on silent mode.
- Food and Drinks: NO FOOD OR DRINKS will be permitted in the Studios or beyond the lobby area. Water bottles are acceptable. Gum chewing and candy are not permitted in any of the classes.
- Visitation: Parents and guests will not be permitted to sit in the Studios and watch classes other than on scheduled visitation days.
- In consideration of the classes in session and new clients visiting our Academy, all Students and family members must act accordingly. Loud voices and running through the studio will not be tolerated. We will be more than happy to direct you to the local parks, libraries, shopping, etc.
