Patrick Nugent

Patrick is a native of California, grew up in Minnesota and graduated with a BA in piano from the University of Minnesota. In New York he received his classical training from Madame Olga Stroumillo, formerly of the Curtis Institute and Mannes School. At the same time he became interested in “show” music and coached many singers. He also served as accompanist for music theater classes by Charles Nelson Riley, Word Baker, Rita Gardner, Karen Gustafson, Margo Moser, Elizabeth Howell and Mark Howard, the latter at the American Musical and Dramatic Theater Academy (AMDA). He has performed over 100 Broadway hits working with such stars as Ethel Merman, Gary Berghof, Tommy Tune, Van Johnson, Bert Parks, Juliet Prouse, Florence Henderson, Shirley Jones, Gloria DeHaven, Jack Jones, Dan Dailey, Jose Ferrer, Robert Goulet, Carol Lawrence, Gordon MacRae, Jane Morgan, Ray Milland, Anita Bryant, Margaret Whiting and Carla Alberghetti. He retired to Florida only to become Musical Director for 20 years at The Mark Two Dinner Theater and Orlando Broadway Dinner Theater. He currently serves as accompanist at Trinity Preparatory School and enjoys teaching children but especially welcomes adult piano students to The Masterclass Academy.
