Kara Herbert Kara is a native of New York and holds a Bachelors of Music in Piano Performance with a specialization in piano pedagogy from the State University of New York at Fredonia. She has been teaching piano students of all ages and levels for 12 years. Kara has given a number of recitals and has often collaborated with her husband in the performance of duo piano literature. She is an advocate for the performance of new music and has premiered many original compositions for both solo piano and various chamber ensembles. Kara is an active member of MENC: The National Association for Music Education, MTNA, and is a certified Kindermusik teacher. She is also an experienced music teacher and choral director of both elementary and middle school aged students and is currently teaching for Orange County Public Schools.
