Dan Herbert
Dan Herbert has been a professional pianist for nearly twenty years and holds a Doctorate of Music degree in Music Composition from Florida State University, where he served as an instructor for all levels of piano class, aural skills, theory, and keyboard improvisation. Dr. Herbert is currently the fine arts team leader at Phyllis Wheatley Elementary School in Apopka, FL. He has served on the music faculties of Florida State University, Arizona State University, State College of Florida, Orange County Public Schools, and the Masterclass Academy of Winter Park. In addition to remaining active as a freelance accompanist, he continues to compose new music for a variety of ensembles, including commissions for concert band. His works have been performed both here and abroad, including the Czech-American Summer Music Institute, the North American Saxophone Alliance Biennial Conference, the Florida State University New Music Festival, and the Southeastern United States Concert Band Clinic. Dr. Herbert lives in Orlando, FL with his wife, Kara, and son, Jonathan.
