Creative Dramatics I (Ages 3-4)
Creative Dramatics II (Ages 5-7)
Designed to develop the creative
imagination of younger children through improvisation, music, theater games and
role playing. The goal is to help the children to “open up” and not be afraid
to be imaginative, a basic stepping stone to being able to perform in front of
others, as well as create characters with confidence.
Elementary Acting (Ages 7-8)
Continuing development of the young actor. This class teaches the
fundamental basics of acting, such as projection, enunciation, poise,
imagination development, concentration, and theater terms.
Fundamentals of Acting
(Ages 10 & up)
An introductory acting class that teaches students how to use the actor’s tools, their
body, voice and mind. Topics that will be covered include; relaxation, breathe
control, diction and enunciation, posture and movement, concentration,
memorization, and theater terms and their notations.
PLEASE NOTE: All acting classes are offered for an 18 week semester and will cover multiple topics in a semester including but not limited to the following:
Musical Theater
(Ages 10 & up)
Incorporates acting, singing and some choreography. The students will learn the concept and importance of being a “triple threat” by actually taking scenes and musical numbers from the composers various shows and preparing them for performance.
Scene Study
(Ages 10 & up)
Focusing in script analysis and scene breakdown that focuses on the
intent and vision of the play, as well as motivation identification.
Character Development
(Ages 10 & up)
Focuses on analyzing character breakdowns and
creating three-dimensional characters that are believable.
Audition Preparation (Monologues
and Cold Readings)
(Ages 10 & up)
Focusing on audition techniques, suitable monologues will be selected and
learned cold reading techniques will be taught, and extensive time will be spent
on presentation.
Audition Preparation (Television
and Commercial)
(Ages 10 & up)
An on-camera class that focuses on the commercial reading including lines
and improvisations; how to sell yourself and the product by developing your
style and keeping it real; and discussing what casting directors are looking for
and how to give them what they want.
Improvisation
(Ages 10 & up)
Designed to develop the actor’s mind so that they’re able to think
“on their feet.” This class is also good for developing concentration, and
learning the ability to share the focus on stage. No experience or prior
training is needed.
