Chris Burns Chris Burns was born and raised in San Jose, California. Chris developed his song craft by playing in different bands, recording, and diving deep into the songwriting skills of artists like Ani DiFranco, Paul Simon, Sam Beam, and Ben Folds. He moved to Orlando in 2006 and in early 2007 Chris officially began his solo music career with the release of his EP CB Radio. Chris soon began opening up for national artists like Christopher Cross (Sailing, Ride Like the Wind, Arthur’s Theme [Best That You Can Do]), Marc Cohn (Walking in Memphis, True Companion, Silver Thunderbird), and Air Supply (All Out of Love, The Power of Love, Even the Nights are Better). Chris followed up CB Radio with a single on iTUNES, Focus, which received college radio air play accompanied by a music video which won Audience Favorite at the FMF Indie Film Jam in 2008. That same year Chris was awarded Rock for Hunger Artist of the Year and was named Best Indie Artist in Orlando in 2009 by the Orlando Weekly. Chris has spent the last two years writing and recording his full length album, Out of the Well, due out in 2011. Chris is currently finishing his BA in history at UCF and he will be pursuing a masters degree in Social Science Education in 2012. |
